Your real estate recession-proof career

If you're among the thousands who have obtained a real estate license when the market was hot, do you begin to think might not be as easy to make money as it appeared at the time?

According to the 2007 Real Estate Trends Report, there is a licensed Realtor ® for every 90 Americans. It could not be enough work for you all, especially in the current real estate market.

With such a saturated market of Realtors, it is not surprising that they do not make much money either. According Realtor.org The average salary for a sales agent in 2004 was $ 37,600 for 2008 and this number dropped to $ 31,000. For new workers, wages can be as low as $ 13,000 per year.

Instead of heading to McDonalds ® for an application, (a manager in a fast-food restaurant making $ 30,000 to $ 35,000 per year and not having to work 24 / 7) if you are not making a fortune as an agent, you can consider a career in home staging.

Home stagers can grow their businesses regardless of the real estate market is hot or not, because people always want to do more on the sale of their property. And in a buyer's market, they need our help even more, if want to sell quickly.

Even the FSBO (for sale by owner) market is open to us as home stagers. Same Sellers who do not want to pay brokerage commissions, and instead try to sell their home privately, will invest in home staging services to decorate their homes to sell more quickly and more money.

As a real estate agent, you already know the real estate market and you are probably used to giving advice to home owners on housing loans up for sale. I hope you do not commit the fatal mistake of staging in your sales for free as a value added service.

You could in fact be making more money on the stage to give advice that you do now in real estate commissions!

In my second year as a Home Stager I was up to $ 10,000 a month staging homes for my clients and it is from the earth without a licensed real estate agent. It is interesting to note that the majority of Home sellers do not choose their agent, however, when they told me hired. If I had a license I had a lot of these ads myself rather than to recommend them to other agents.

If you are a real estate agent used to drive all day showing properties and not be paid until you sell something, income that you can do as a home stager may surprise you. For example, $ 300 to $ 600 is close to the industry standard for home staging consultation, according where you live.

Assuming the low end to $ 300, if you had to do four of these eight days is more than $ 60,000 at the end of the year. At the top end you could make 124,800 dollars a year and this is what to do with home staging consultations where you walk around the client's home and giving advice to stop so they can do the remaining work themselves.

Now we will take only a quarter of these consultations become full staging projects blown. You will another $ 4,000 to $ 8,000 per month, or between $ 48,000 and $ 96,000 per year in addition to consulting fees, you were already done! And you do not to share any of this income with a broker.

If you make less than the average fast food manager, watching your meager income get eaten by fees and advertising budgets of large and you're tired of being on call for your customers 24 / 7, is not it time you have started looking for other options that use the knowledge you already have real estate while allowing you to double or triple what you earn today?

Consider the current economy and the slow housing market you wake. Maybe you should be safe from recession your real estate career by enrolling in home staging training program and start earning the kind of money you attracted to the real estate profession in the first place!

In a down market or economy, commercial real estate investment salaries may fluctuate. If you want to pursue a career as a commercial real estate investor, moving to a big city that has investment or property firms can ensure your chances of making large amounts of money into the six-figure range.

That is great. But if the RE market is down, it is difficult to make this much amount.
